Security in correctional facilities requires more than technology alone. It demands operational insight, regulatory understanding and experience designing systems that perform reliably in high-risk environments with evolving threats. To further strengthen its detention and corrections capabilities, Alscan is proud to welcome Jason Mullis to the team.
Mullis brings more than 20 years of leadership experience overseeing mission-critical security technology, infrastructure and operations within detention and correctional environments—experience that also directly supports Alscan’s work with government and other high-security clients.
Deep Experience Supporting Correctional Security Systems
Prior to joining Alscan, Mullis served in senior business operations leadership roles with the Georgia Department of Corrections. Most recently, he oversaw statewide security electronics, centralized maintenance and the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems that support correctional facilities across Georgia.
In addition to day-to-day operational oversight, Mullis played a key role in the review and approval of security electronics designs for new prison construction, including:
- Locking and access control systems
- Video surveillance (CCTV)
- Perimeter security and detection technologies
This work ensured designs met operational, safety and compliance standards before deployment—an essential factor in long-term system reliability and facility safety.
Why Operational Insight Matters for Security in Correctional Facilities
Correctional environments place unique demands on security systems. Technologies must scale across large campuses, integrate with multiple systems and disciplines, ensure safety and support daily, complex operations—often under staffing constraints.
Mullis’ background managing multi-million-dollar security budgets, cross-functional teams and vendor relationships brings added depth to Alscan’s approach to security in correctional facilities.
His experience directly supports:
- Secure system design and implementation
- Long-term performance and maintainability
- Risk mitigation in high-liability environments
Amplifying Alscan’s Detention and Corrections Capabilities
At Alscan, Mullis will support clients across detention, corrections, and other high-security environments by contributing expertise in system design review, project execution and operational best practices. His addition reinforces Alscan’s ability to deliver customized, compliant and scalable solutions for organizations where security is mission-critical.
